Our Values

Our Values

Since 1951, Moraine Heights has been declaring the love of God to our local community and the world beyond our community. Our mission is to reach people without Christ with the Gospel and train them to serve him. Moraine Heights is a place of worship, fellowship, and a place where eternal friendships are established. In addition to our primary mission and foundational beliefs, we affirm the following core values:

The Bible:

We want to emphasize how the Lord can transform our lives by effecting change in our day-to-day actions. We do not want to argue over disputable matters that have no real impact on walking with Christ in faith, love, prayer, wisdom, and outreach. We want to center on the life of Jesus Christ - His cross, His resurrection, His Lordship, His imminent return, and His great salvation he offers freely. We want to help people daily experience the transforming power of God's Word as they take it in and allow the Holy Spirit to make known the glories of Christ.  We affirm that God reveals Himself through His Word and so that we have an authoritative Bible to believe and follow. God has spoken!

The Family:

We want to help families become the vessels of Glory that God designed them to be. For those from families that are hurt and broken, we want to provide opportunities in the church family for relationships that nurture and give a sense of belonging, acceptance, and extended family. We use our Sunday School classes as the main way of providing these opportunities. We also want to provide a program for every age so that there is something of value for everyone in the family.

Outreach:

The unsaved peoples of the Earth matter to God. We desire to reach them. We believe the only reason the Lord has left us here on Earth is because He wants to work through us to help lost, confused, hurting people come to know Jesus as their magnificent Saviour. Discipleship that does not result in outreach is not true discipleship. The church that is not involved in outreach is ineffective.

Music:

we believe that hymns and instrumentals are helpful in worship. We lift up God honoring music that is worthy to sing to our Lord in both lyrics and in sound. We are very concerned that our music be centered on the Christ of the cross and the blood he has shed.

Stewardship:

We want to manage God's resources of money, time, material possessions and abilities in a way that reaches and equips the most people possible.

...Well done, though good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the lord. - Matt 25:23
